Sako L61R Late 1970's 7mm Rem Mag Refurbished.

Sako L61R Late 1970's 7mm Rem Mag.

I bought from the original owner and refurbished the stock and re-blued the action.  Some barrel pitting near end consistent with age. Previous owner said it grooped well and was very accurate..

Stock has been completely stripped and redone with Walnut Stain and True Oil finish.  Looks as new now.
Comes with 1" rings and Simons 2.5X10X49mm scope.

The Sako L61R Finnbear long-action rifle—originally introduced in 1961/1962—transitioned into its later production and marketing phases during the late 1970s.

• Design & Evolution: Sako manufactured the L61R Finnbear as a heavy, long-action platform built for standard and magnum long-action cartridges.
• Transition to AIII: Near the late 1970s, Sako changed the marketing designation of the L61R long action to the AIII, which was subsequently followed shortly thereafter by the AV model in the 1980s.
• Design Differences: The primary mechanical distinction between the L61R, AIII, and AV long actions is the length of the rear action tang and minor receiver updates. Across all these designations, the rifles retained the classic "Finnbear" lineage.
• Features: Late-era and traditional L61R/AIII rifles are recognized for their integral dovetail scope mounting rails, smooth multi-lug bolt actions, crisp adjustable triggers, and walnut Monte Carlo stocks.
